![]() So now, even if I dont type the code in the command prompt for dmdext, the games play and will show the backglass video while browsing Pinballx, but they wont display the backglass video while in the game and they used to. ![]() So do I have to type that code in the command prompt each time before opening Pinballfx3? I want to be able to do everything from PinballX. The DMD test worked fine, and if I opened a command prompt and typed in dmdext mirror -source=pinballfx3 -no-virtual The DMD would display correctly when playing a pinballfx3 game, but the backglass no longer displayed and it had another dmd display on my top backglass monitor as well. up and playing the table videos ok on monitor 1, BUT the backglass videos. I then tried to get dmdext to put the dmd on my real dmd, and used the settings here Pinball FX3 is the biggest, most community focused pinball game ever created. I've done a Family Guy one, and two different Archer ones as well, (Highway to the Dangerzone cuz its just awesome, and intro) I just need to upload. I used game manager to load table wheel images, backglass videos and a table video and they were all working fine, the backglass video would play while browsing the tables in Pinballx and it would stay playing during game play. Its a bit weird to have that much movement on the backglass, but I figure its more for those that are watching anyways so why not see how it goes. Now, once you’ve downloaded and copied the images to Steam, you load Pinball FX3, head to the cabinet settings, and input the following coordinates for the backglass and DMD.ĭot matrix repositioning: On Dot matrix horizontal position: 2275 Dot matrix vertical positioning: 740 Dot matrix horizontal size: 1200 Dot matrix vertical size: 300 Backglass repositioning: On Backglass horizontal position: 1921 Backglass vertical position: 0 Backglass horizontal size: 1920 Backglass vertical size: 1080Īs a final step, you probably want to turn off the DMD in the gameplay table settings or else you’ll have duplicate DMDs (on the playfield and backglass).Im trying to get Pinballfx3 setup to launch with pinballx. If you use different images or a separate DMD, you’ll have to tweak the settings on your own. Since these images have a spot for the DMD, my settings are also for a DMD located within these back glass images. These images are mostly wonderful, so I’m pretty happy with them. 3) This utility works by having windows add file system log entries when accessing only pinball fx table files and then the app registers events to be notified when those entries exist in the log and updates the backglass when those events occur. You could use other images, but the settings below might not work if so. 2 month work,118 Backglasses, just for fun and need for something different and better. The images I’m using are ones I obtained here: (Your Steam installation directory]\steamapps\common\Pinball FX3\data\steam) You have to download them and place them in the appropriate Steam folder. Now, Zen does not have backglass images included among its files. If you alter your setup, then what I’m sharing below won’t work. I couldn’t figure out a workaround, but keeping Windows in landscape and rotating the playfield instead in Zen’s cabinet mode settings works well, so this is how I left it. Although this is adjustable in Windows and you could set it up as if your primary display were in portrait mode and your secondary display above it (you know, like an actual pinball), for whatever reason this results in Zen Pinball rendering at a lower internal resolution even when set at 1080p. IMPORTANT: for these settings I left my play field in Landscape mode and have the secondary display as if it were to the right of my main display. If you did all this and have turned on your Zbox PC and have the dual HDMI set up, you should have your primary display as the play field and the backglass as a secondary extended display, which you can verify in the Windows PC display settings. These steps assume you’ve set up your VIBS and have installed PinballFX3 through Steam, and that you activated cabinet mode through Zen. Since I know many others have an identical setup with their ALP, I figured I’d share my steps and settings so any other new VIBS owners could get up and running quickly. Thus, I stumbled through several videos and webpages until I finally got it all working on my setup through trial and error. So after searching online for straightforward, easy to follow instructions on setting up VIBS backglass images on Pinball FX3 for those who purchased one of the Zotac mini PCs a couple of months ago, I couldn’t find one.
